Domaine Herbauges Muscadet Clos de la Fine - 2008 - $12

David: A Muscadet which is an appellation at the mouth of the Loire in France. A white wine made from a grape called Melon de Bourgogne or simply melon. The wine is almost colorless. Mattie called the color dirty diamond. KInd of a light gray/green. Nose of white peach and lime. Sightly tingly in texture, highly acidic and minerally in nature. Definitely taste salt (common is Muscadet though uncommon in most wines), chalk and other rocky components. Long acidic finish is quite nice. Tastes like sea spray on chalk cliffs. A wine like this is best with food but interesting to taste on its own. Should try it with seafood. Had it with Chicken Milanese. Not a perfect pairing but OK.
David: 4.2/5
